Duh! Sorry I didn't read your post satori till after I wrote mine! Great P.O.V. Dropping science, transcending defiance! You go! Oh so true, that we'll still have to deal with emotions after kensho, satori, enlightement. I like the "thought-switching" technique from one of aversion to P.O.V. "You're doing the best you can for where you're at" to help cultiuvate compassion before reacvting to negative behavior negatively. Thanks Satori! /\ mm

Yes, it's amazing how merely changing our perspective of a situation can change our experience of it. Very cool!! Whatever works, you know?

isn't self realization a form of enlightenment? Perhaps some realizations are minor...

isn't self realization a form of enlightenment? Perhaps some realizations are minor... You're absolutely right! In fact, I kind of miss that feeling that used to accompany those "ah ha" moments of enlightenment (moments of "satori," not THE enlightenment, however; otherwise, I wouldn't be here! lol). It was a feeling of my mind expanding when I hit upon a certain realization or idea that was in alignment with truth. Have you ever had those? I'm sure you have and that most people have. It's probably common. But it's such a great confirmation that you just hit upon something big, you know?! I used to have those all the time when I was actively learning a lot on the path, but now I hardly ever have them ... and I miss them!! Oh well, just ego's attachment, no doubt.

all the more reason to recommitt to aspiring to cultivate bodhichitta, i.e., awakened mind through a discipline of meditation.

all the more reason to recommitt to aspiring to cultivate bodhichitta, i.e., awakened mind through a discipline of meditation. Well, what I'm talking about is no longer expanding my consciousness, because it already reached certain levels. I'm not talking about becoming lazy or lax in my approach or anything. Just that when you reach a point of attainment, things kind of level off and no longer expand. Bodhichitta has more to do with cultivating an open heart, but what I was talking about had to do with intellectual knowledge that could be felt and resonated at a cellular level. Does that make sense?

i want to meet a teacher that has deep realisations of bodhichitta i want to get to know them and watch and learn how it works practically because i tried really hard to have bodhichitta and i feel i failed . i just wanted to say that i never lost my compasson i just became exhausted trying to understand bodhichitta . they are very different things and yet they are the same. i still have compassion but i feel lke i have less bodhichitta
